Color as Emotion

Color has always been my greatest tool for storytelling. Lately, I’ve been thinking about how much of what we feel is tied to the hues we see. The warmth of a muted orange can remind you of autumn afternoons, while deep blues might pull you into a space of quiet introspection. This is where my current focus lies: using color to create an emotional pull in my designs.
In one of my recent abstract pieces, I played with bold, clashing colors—electric blues and fiery reds—to create tension. At first, the combination felt too aggressive, but as I layered textures and softened transitions, it began to tell a story. It wasn’t just about visual appeal anymore; it felt like the clash of energy and calm that I’ve been feeling lately in my own life.
I’m also revisiting my older work and asking myself questions I didn’t think to ask before. Does this palette reflect what I wanted to express? Could a simple shift in tone have made it stronger? It’s humbling to see how much growth comes from reinterpreting what you’ve already created.
Color isn’t just a tool for me—it’s the heartbeat of my designs. It’s how I translate the intangible into something you can feel.
